Amba khatta....

INGREDIENTS:

  • Green mangoes-3-4.
  • Red chili-2.
  • Phutana(cumin seed+mustard seed+fenugreek seed)-1/2 tsp.
  • Chopped Ginger-2 tsp.

  • Sugar/grated Jaggery-2 tsp.

  • Roasted Red chili powder-1 tsp.

  • Roasted cumin powder-1 tsp.

  • Curry leaves-10-12.
  • Mustard oil-1 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp.
  • Shredded coconut-1 tsp.(for garnishing)
  • Salt to taste.

PREPARATION:


  • Wash the mango,cut into small small square pieces.  
  • Heat oil in a pan,add broken red chili,phutana,let it crackleNot listening,then add chopped ginger,curry leaves,saute it for a few second.
  • Add mango,turmeric powder,salt stir it,then add 1 cup water.
  • Cover it with a lid & allow it to boil 5-7 min in low flame.
  • Open the lid,add sugar/jaggery,let it boil 2-3 min.
                  *u can add more if u want more sweetness.
  • Then add roasted red chili powder & cumin powder,mix it properly.
  • Delicious "Amba katha" is ready to serve.
