Cabbage roll(Gobi/kobi roll)....

Cabbage roll are made with cabbage leaves & stuffed with potato,green peas & onion mixture..Before u eat chicken roll,mutton roll & vegetable roll,but this roll is totally different from this...Try this new varieties in your home..This recipe is quite simple..Doh

INGREDIENTS:

  • Cabbage leaves-8.

  • Medium size potatoes(boiled & mashed)-4

  • Green peas(boiled & mashed)-1/2 cup

  • Chopped Green chili-

    1.

  • Chopped onion-1(optional).

  • Chaat masala-1 tsp.

  • Gram flour-1 cup.

  • Red chili powder-1 tsp.

  • Eno fruit salt-1/2 tsp.

  • Salt to taste.

  • Oil to deep fry.

PREPARATION:


  • Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling salted water.Drain the water & dry the cabbage leaves with tissue paper or leave it on a plate 10-20 min to dry as shown in the image.


               *the main reason to blanch is:to soft the cabbage leaf & it easy to roll around the stuffing.
  • Take a bowl,add  mashed potatoes,mashed green peas,salt,chaat masala,chopped onion,green chili mix it. Divide this mixture into 8 equal portions.

  • Place each portion of the above mixture towards one end of each cabbage leaf.Fold the sides around the filling & roll up.

  • Take a bowl,add gram flour,red chili powder,salt & eno with water.mix well to avoid lumps & make a batter of coating consistency.

  • Heat sufficient oil in a pan for deep frying.Dip the cabbage rolls in the batter & deep fry until golden brown all around.Drain & place them on an absorbent paper/tissue paper.

  • Sprinkle some chaat masala over it & Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
