"Bhindi Do Pyaza" is a north Indian dish..Its a delicious vegetable preparation made with a double quantity of onions as the amount of ladies fingers..
INGREDIENTS:
- Bhindi(Ladies finger/okra)-200 gm.
- Chopped Onion-4
(medium size)
. Chopped tomato-2(medium size).
- Ginger-garlic paste-2 tsp.
Red chili powder-1 tsp.
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp.
Turmeric powder-1 tsp.
Coriander powder-1 tsp.
Kasturi methi-1/2 tsp.
Hing-1/2 tsp.(optional)
Sugar-1/4 tsp.
Coriander leaves-2 tsp.
Garam masala-1/2 tsp.
Refined oil-3 tbsp.
Salt to taste.
PREPARATION:
- Wash & clean the bhendi,cut it into big size pieces.Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan,fry the bhendi to avoid stickiness without changing its beautiful green color & keep aside...
- Heat oil in the same pan,add sugar,add cumin seed,when it crackle,add ginger-garlic paste,red chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,kasturi methi,stir it till raw smell goes.
- Then add chopped onion,tomato,stir till onion turns golden brown in color.add fried bhendi & mix it well,add 1/4 cup of water,cook for 3-4 min/till the bhindi cooked.Garnish with coriander leaves..
- "Bhendi do pyaza" is ready to serve..enjoy.....
